Institutional strengthening of Gujarat Forest Department will focus on enhancing its capacity for effective project implementation through targeted training in technology, GIS, drone monitoring, MIS, and upgrading its technology platform. Given the staffing gaps, capacity-building will be crucial, with training needs assessments identifying skill gaps, particularly in non-forestry activities and M&E. Knowledge-sharing forums, orientation on fund flow arrangements, tax compliance, and procurement management will improve efficiency. Additionally, capacity-building efforts will support sustainable grassland and wetland management, human-wildlife conflict mitigation, and strengthening community institutions like JFMCs, EDCs, and ETDCs for long-term sustainability. Institutional development will be driven through a combination of training, exposure visits, guidelines, and continuous field support from PMC experts and resource organizations.
