The objectives of the project are “To restore and enhance ecosystem services by development of mangroves and coastal shelterbelts, restoration of grasslands, wetlands and forests, management of human wildlife conflict and institutional strengthening, thereby contributing to solving socio-economic issues in Gujarat State”.
The area selected for the implementation of the Project for Ecosystem Restoration in Gujarat (PERG) is displayed as in the map.
The project activities are planned for 21 districts, spreading over 11 circles, 27 divisions and 110 ranges.
The list of project districts covered under the PERG are: Ahmedabad, Amreli, Anand, Aravalli, Banaskantha, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Botad, Chhota Udepur, Dahod, Gandhinagar, Junagadh, Kheda, Kutchh, Mahisagar, Morbi, Panchmahal, Porbandar, Sabarkantha, Surat, Vadodara.
